Do's And Don'ts For Anxiety/Stress Relief.

You don't need a doctor to tell you that anxiety/stress isn't healthy, but you may need help learning to overcome it.

If you want less anxiety/stress and more peace in your life then I suggest that you try a few of these ideas.

*  Get up 15 minutes earlier than you normally do in the morning.
*  Prepare for your morning the night before.
*  Listen to a relaxing CD in the morning instead of the morning news.
*  Get rid of that annoying alarm clock and buy one that wakes you up with a light, an aroma, or pleasant tones.
*  Eat breakfast daily.
*  Get centered before you go out into the world.  Take a few minutes to pray or meditate.
*  Get up early enough to do a few exercise routines.
*  Set one daily goal.
*  Drink your favorite beverage from your favorite mug.
*  Make lists.  Don't try and rely on memory alone.
*  Make duplicates of all keys.  Put a house key in a secret place and carry a spare car key in your wallet or purse.
*  Practice preventive maintenance.  This will keep things running as smoothly as possible so your car, etc wonbreak down at the worst possible moments.
*  Be prepared to wait.  Carry a small book with you.
*  Don't procrastinate - DO IT TODAY!
*  Plan ahead.  Keep your gas tank as full as possible.
*  Keep a stock of home staples in case of emergency.
*  Don't ignore little things that don't work.  The small sources of aggravation can add up.
*  Give yourself a 15 to 20 minute cushion for appointments, etc.
*  Be a "Pollyanna".  Try to remember the good things when things seem to be going wrong.
*  Forget about the caffeine.
*  Relax your standards.  Will the world come to an end if you don't get somthing done?
*  Do something for someone else.  It will make you feel good as well as reduce stress.
*  Get at least 8 hours of sleep.
*  Take a vacation, even if it's on the weekends only.
*  Start gardening.
*  Laugh at life.  Even if it means renting a movie.
*  Don't hold a grudge.
*  Have a massage once a month.
*  Relax to music.  Experts suggest giving classical music a try.
*  Keep a journal.
*  Take a walk in the sun.  Even if it is only to the mailbox or a friend's house.
*  Practice deep breathing.
*  Take rewarding breaks from work.  Avoid people who complain most of the time.
*  Get away from your workstation.  Do some physical activity unrelated to your work.  Take a walk or do some stretching.

The thing to remember is to control your anxiety/stress for a healthy life.
