Why CholesLo For Heart Health
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women around the world, cardiovascular disease affects people of all ages and ethnicities.
Did you know the following:
1 in 3 deaths worldwide each year is caused by cardiovascular disease
(World Health Organization)
Moderately overweight adults, even after having lost the weight, suffer increased chances of developing heart disease by over 70%
(National Institute of Health, 2004).
The majority of cardiovascular diseases are preventable and controllable
(World Health Federation, April 2004).
Stress at any age is a contributing factor to heart disease.
However, you can control some risk factors. There are on the other hand some risk factors for heart disease that you cannot control, such as family history, age and ethnicity.
As I mentioned, however, there are some risk factors that you can control. They are:
1. LDL ("bad" cholesterol) - Too much LDL may clog your arteries and veins so that your organs cannot get the oxygen and nutrients they need.
2. HDL ("good" cholesterol)- Low levels of HDL cholesterol are known to increase overall risk of dying from heart disease.
3. Triglycerides - High blood triglycerides are often linked with lower HDL "good" cholesterol levels, both of which are risk factors for heart disease.
4. High blood pressure - High blood pressure levels can ultimately lead to heart failure or stroke.
5. Obesity - Excess weight puts significant strain on your heart and may worsen other risk factors.
6. Lifestyle - such as diet, stress and smoking. Saturated fats consumed should not be more than 30% of your daily calories to help manage weight and cholesterol.
In addition you should have a daily exercise program to strengthen your heart muscle to work more efficiently and can also reduce body fat. I suggest an easy exerice to increase your daily activity is to go for a walk around your neighborhood for 20-30 minutes several times a week.
Because modern lifestyle often makes a sound lifestyle difficult to maintain, I suggest using CholesLo to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system in addition to a healthy diet and regular exercise.
